5 Reasons Why You Should Ditch Your Dial-up Connection

I know the title sounds funny but that might be what you need. With a lot of advanced and evolving technologies it is still amazing to see the number of people who are still accessing the internet using a dial-up connection. There are a lot of advanced internet connection services and I believe you’re still using a dial-up connection because you’re yet to be convinced of the advantages of latest internet connectivity technologies such as the broadband internet. Below are 5 reasons why you should ditch your dial-up internet connection.

1. It is Damn Too Slow
Accessing the internet using a dial-up service can be really frustrating and most of the time it will take you several minutes to load a web page, you will also be restricted to the types of sites you can visit and you won’t be able to use your internet connection to watch videos or download big files. Dial-up connection is so slow and isn’t that ideal for the active internet user, you will surely experience lots of browsing hiccups if you go with this option of connecting to the internet.

2. It Takes too Much Effort to Get Connected
Take a look at your dial-up internet and the time it takes you to enter your username and password anytime you want to connect to the internet, also think about the effort it takes to keep on dialing anytime you restart your system or if there is a network problem. Life isn’t supposed to be that difficult and you should be able to access the internet using one click to the favorite browser of your choice. There is a lot of advanced internet connection technology that automatically connects to the internet and these forms of internet connectivity are the best replacement for the dial-up connection.

3. It is Not Portable
Imagine yourself as someone who loves to travel or visit as many places as you can, you wouldn’t find it convenient carrying one big box they call a modem anywhere you go. There are more advanced and effective forms of internet connection models that are very portable and flexible. It will also be and embarrassment carrying a box around with your laptop anywhere you’re going. Portability is highly important.
Another thing is that it is easily prone to damage because if you carelessly go about it the dial-up modem might end up falling from your hands and this will lead to total destruction of the modem.

4. Network Inconsistency
Another thing about a dial-up connection is that it is highly inconsistent and it is often difficult to get a network in some places. A dial-up connection is also affected by various weather conditions, for example, if there is too much rain or a harsh weather condition there will be a great difficulty accessing the internet throughout that day and this isn’t good for someone whose business depends on the internet. There are a lot of new technologies that are highly consistent and not weather dependent that you can use to substitute your dial-up connection

5. Consistent Disconnections
Another major problem faced with dial-up connections is the consistent disconnections you will be experiencing. You will often find it frustrating and discouraging especially if you spend the most of your time chatting or downloading files online because this will lead to a break in your chatting or a complete stop to your download, which means you will have to start over again.
